Couple fatties

Even in the shallowest water there are tons of fish in the bay

This puffer had an escort. There were many beautiful fish at the monument but we didn't see any rays or dolphins even though they are common there.

Kamehameha monument

The reef here is supposed to be one of the premier snorkling spots in the world and it was incredible

We kayaked over to the monument in Kealakekua bay and did some snorkling. Tiff was showing off her new dive shirt 

Everybody did their part

Everybody was involved in the effort, young or old. I think they needed some smaller shirts though...

We were stationed at the end of the swim and then at the last station of the run. It was a long day but we had fun. 

Churning water

There were only a fraction of how many people will compete in the Ironman in this race but it was still impressive when they all hit the water. 

And they're off!

There was still a few seconds left on the countdown but the front swimmers didn't let that stop them from getting a little room in the water. 

Honu half triathalon

Back in June we volunterred with our friends Steve and Sara and their kids for the Honu half traiathalon. It is a prequalifier for the Ironman and started at Hapuna beach near our condo. 

Impressive?

These things will probably look even less impressive on the blog than on a full screen. Oh well

We were far away from this show and the boat was bouncing but I kind of got a couple shots 

Sunset on the fourth

The sunset was pretty spectacular. The open bar was fun. The potluck foor was great. We all had a great time 

Fourth of July at Kawaihai

Forgot to publish these before. We spent the fourth on a power-sail catamaran. Bout seventy of us went out for a three hour tour...

First ride

Bre's horse was a little more stable.. and also a lot bigger 

Suicidal horse

Tiff had to jump off this crazy horse when it seemed like it was going to plunge into the waipio valley on their ride. She landed on her feet and the horse decided against suicide and all was well.

Look Craig. Tiff in the convertable with the top down! She doesn't look too happy bout it though. Probably was back up soon after this picture... 

Manago at home

Manago enjoys this chair. In fact he can get comfortable just about anywhere 

Wave on the reef

There are shallow areas on the reef at this beach and the waves are pretty cool as they go over 

Back scratcher

This isn't the best shot but right about here is when Craig's back started scrapping on the coral. I was laughing underwater soon after and only got off one more shot.
