Feels like Christmas

A christmas song came on just as we got to the snow and then it started snowing. Put us in the holiday spirit. Maybe next weekend we will be able to get to the top of Mauna Kea if the road opens

Mauna Loa parking lot

This is the end of the Mauna Loa access road. Its six miles hike to the summit from here but it started snowing hard and we were freezing so we didn't go up to deeper snow.

Not as much snow on this side of Mauna Kea but it was hard to get a picture with all the clouds this day.

Had a blizzard warning for four days on the mountains. This is from Mauna Kea observatory road back toward Mauna Loa
